Description
Browntop is the rarest of the millets — so scarce and so prized in the siridhanya tradition that growers have long nicknamed it the ‘miracle millet’. Known as korale in Karnataka, it grows in the region’s driest soils and is sought out by those who want the most uncommon goodness in their kitchen. We grow this hard-to-find heritage grain chemical-free, for the discerning few.

Frequently asked questions
Why is browntop millet harder to find and costlier?
It’s grown on a tiny acreage of dryland Karnataka and Andhra, gives low yields, and needs careful processing. It nearly disappeared before the siridhanya movement revived it — buying it directly supports the farmers keeping it alive.
Is it very different from the other small millets?
The taste is a little earthier and the fibre content is among the highest in the group. If you already enjoy millets and want the rarest of the five, this is the one.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Best used within 6 months of packing.
